Using the app

These terms apply when a grown-up allows a child to use Sophie's Treasure Hunt. You must use the app lawfully, follow venue rules and supervise play in a way that suits the child's age and surroundings.

The app is a game, not a safety, navigation, emergency, education or professional-advice service. Skip or stop whenever real-world conditions make a clue unsuitable.

Accounts and acceptable use

• Use a non-identifying username and keep the password and recovery links private.
• Do not submit photos of people, private information, illegal content or unsafe situations.
• Do not attempt to defeat photo checks, forge scores, probe other accounts or interfere with the service.
• Community is for known friends. A grown-up should approve requests and may remove or block another username. There is no chat, photo sharing or location sharing.
• Tell us through support if account security or unsafe content may be affected.

Availability and changes

We may correct unsafe challenges, suspend a feature during an outage, or restrict an account to protect users and service integrity. We will not permanently penalise a child solely because an automated photo check fails.

Commercial features are not available in the current pre-release build. Purchase, restore, refund and entitlement terms must be added and approved before paid features are enabled.

Privacy, ownership and deletion

The privacy policy explains data handling. A grown-up can request permanent deletion through the app or the public deletion page.

Lightning Developments and its licensors retain rights in the app, catalogue, characters and artwork. These terms do not transfer those rights or limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

New Zealand law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Nothing here excludes or limits rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986, Privacy Act 2020 or any other right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
